The 2019 Kia Sorento is classified as a mid-sized crossover SUV, a mouthful I know.
Fun fact: the first generation (pre-2009) was actually a compact SUV. Then in 2010, Kia made changes moving the second-generation Kia Sorento to the mid-sized crossover SUV class. The redesigns gave the Sorento better fuel economy and increased comfort.
And the newest Sorento is nothing short of amazing.

2019 Kia Sorento Trim Levels
The latest and greatest Sorento is available in 8 trim levels: L, LX, LX V6, S V6, EX Sport, EX V6, SX and SX Limited. The features and tech in the lower levels are included or upgraded as we go up in trim levels.
Before we go into each trim, let’s review what is standard on ALL trim levels!
This 7 passenger SUV is 189 inches in length, 74.4 inches in width, and 66.3 inches in height (66.5 inches with roof rails). Ground clearance in a nice 7.3 inches with a wheelbase of 109.4 inches. Fit in all 7 people comfortably and enjoy 11.3 cubic feet of cargo space. The 3rd row is a little tighter than the 2nd, so we’d suggest throwing the kiddies back there.
Need more room? Fold down the 3rd row for 38 cubic feet or fold the 2nd and 3rd row for a whopping 73 cubic feet!
Under the hood you’ll find 2 different engines depending on the trim level but in each is Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) and Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI). Both improve efficiency, increase fuel economy, and lower emissions.
Though each is configured with different impressive tech and safety features, Kia makes all the safety systems standard across the board as well as each comes with Kia’s warranty, which is the longest on the market at 10yr/100,000 mile power train warrant and 5yr/60,000 mile basic warranty!

2019 Kia Sorento Trim Level : L
2019 Kia Sorento L Trim
The L level is the base trim for the 2019 Sorento with an MSRP of $26,290 and an average MPG of 22/29/25 (City/Highway/Combined).
Under the hood is a powerful 2.4 liter DOHC 16-valve I-4 engine with an electronically controlled 6-Speed Automatic Transmission. This is the only level without an AWD option but still has an impressive towing capacity of 2,000 pounds!
This beautiful SUV comes in 3 exterior colors: Sparkling Silver, Everlasting Silver, and Ebony Black. All with an interior of satin black clothe seats with YES Essentials® Fabric Treatment. They are “designed with repel-and-release technology. Using a specially formulated fabric treatment, these seats are protected from spills, stains, and other hazards.”

2019 Kia Sorento Trim Level : LX
2019 Kia Sorento LX Trim
With a small jump up in price to the MSRP of $27,650, you get a few more great features and have many more available to add. From this trim and up to the EX V6, the Sorento is available in: Sparkling Silver, Everlasting Silver, Ebony Black, Snow White Pearl, Passion Red, Sangria, Imperial Blue, Dragon Brown, and Gravity Gray. The interior has a second option of Stone Beige Cloth along with the satin black.
In the Sorento LX, choose to upgrade to Dynamax All-Wheel Drive (AWD) (21/26/23 MPG) with Locking Center Differential and Torque Vectoring Cornering Control (TVCC). The AWD tech uses sensors to increase traction, control, and stability especially in poor road and weather conditions.

The biggest upgrade in the LX V6 trim level is the 3.3 liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine. This impressive engine comes with an electronically controlled 8-Speed Automatic Transmission. In turn, a more powerful engine enables a higher towing capacity of 3,500 pounds or 5,000 pounds with the AWD option.
As a New Jersian, this could mean a bigger boat or large camper could be pulled without breaking a sweat!

Next on the list is the S V6 trim for $32,690 MSRP. This one still has the 3.3 liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine with the electronically controlled 8-Speed Automatic Transmission and increased towing capacity.
Sitting inside you’ll find this 2019 Kia Sorento trim level comes standard with heated front seats, 3rd Row Air Conditioning w/ Controls, and leather gearshift knob and steering wheel!
